Eno River Brewing is seeking bartenders to help cultivate a unique and inclusive outdoor craft beer experience on the banks of the Eno River in Hillsborough, North Carolina. 

The ideal candidate has experience in the service and hospitality industries; shows initiative and is proficient in multi-tasking; has excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills; is attentive to detail; has a strong work ethic and positive attitude; enjoys working as part of a team; and desires to play an instrumental part in upholding the company’s values and growing its vision.

Job Duties

  • Educating guests about Eno River Brewing, our beer, wine, cider, and NA offerings, and assisting them in making selections.

  • Consummating drink and merchandise sales and accurately recording sales in ERB’s POS system.

  • Regular changing of kegs.

  • Answering the phone and directing calls or taking messages, as needed.

  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable laws governing the sale and safe service of alcohol.

  • Opening and closing the taproom according to ERB’s established operating procedures.

  • Ensuring the taproom and patio are clean and ready for guests at the beginning and end of each shift.

  • Monitoring guests, cleanliness, safety, and supplies during each shift.

  • Monitoring the quality of the beers, cider, and wine on tap to ensure they meet ERB’s serving standards.

  • Participating in regular team meetings, training, and tasting sessions with the Taproom Manager, Head Brewer, and General Manager.

  • Participating in regular team deep cleans of the taproom.

  • Operating and maintaining all taproom equipment including, but not limited to, the POS system, rotational cleaning of draft lines, general taproom housekeeping, etc.

  • Assist Taproom Manager in managing and maintaining inventory of all taproom items, merchandise, and products (i.e. kegs, merchandise, food and beverage resales, glassware, cleaning materials, etc.).

  • Representing the business in all interactions with guests, vendors, suppliers, community partners, etc.

  • Passionate focus on delivering an excellent customer experience for ERB guests.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Eligible to work in the United States

  • Must be at least 21 years of age

  • Clean driving record

  • Ability to work while standing for extended periods of time

  • Frequent lifting of 25-50lbs

  • Ability to move sixtels individually, and half-barrel kegs in a two-person team

  • Prior hospitality and/or bartending experience preferred

  • Demonstrated and passionate knowledge of craft beer. Cicerone Beer Server Certification a plus.

  • Prior experience with restaurant or brewery POS systems preferred. Prior experience with Arryved a bonus.

  • Knowledge of wine, its proper storage and service

  • Ability to quickly react to problems in a fast-paced environment

  • Desire to help grow the brand and implement the company’s vision for the space

  • Strict adherence to ERB’s Code of Conduct

Compensation, Benefits & Working Conditions

  • This position requires shift work, weekend, and holiday work. Occasional off-site event work may be required.

  • Compensation level varies based on experience. Eno River Brewing is a certified Orange County Living Wage business.
